Padraig Allen and the Whole Shabang open for Vintage Lounge Grand Re-Opening Party on Friday, October 23, 2009, in White Plains, NY.

Tonight’s the night! Tonight’s the night! Tonight’s the night!!! The Grand Re-Opening Party at the new and improved Vintage Lounge (not bar anymore) and Restaurant. Ok now that I’ve done my part on selling it, lets talk about how pumped I am for it. I’ve got a few friends coming from all different directions of New York, including some heads from Albany. Not to mention all of my friends from home who because of me have become Vintage/Padraig/Shilelagh/ groupies; they wouldn’t miss this for the world. It’s basically going to be St. Patty’s in October. (Hope we ordered enough Jameson… I am working with 3 of the biggest Jamo hounds known to New York)…

Hopefully, starting off the new place with this kind of bang will help get people coming back. Last night, however, it was just a regular Thursday, and there happened to be a full house! Modernizing Vintage was definitely a smart move on the boss’ part.

Tomorrow night should be equally exciting. The southern rock band, Sundown, is playing. Every time I’ve bartended their gig, they’ve closed with Free Bird. It’s a pretty sweet thing to hear live.

As for next week at Vintage Bar LOUNGE, gotta get used to saying lounge and not bar, we’re having our Halloween Bash. As many of you may know, we’ve had pretty successful H parties in the past. From gynecologists, to slutty– everything, and last year’s cherry on top, the no-pants Tom Cruise of Risky Business, the bartenders are never short on giving and having a good time on Halloween. But this year with the big plans for this weekend, we haven’t thought about costumes. Any suggestions?

I was asked to guest-bartend at a college place that was doing a vampire theme for the staff. Everyone dresses up in whatever they want to be, and just throw some fangs and blood on, so i

t was as if you were a naughty school girl, or a doctor, or what have you, and you were turned into a vamp. Cool and creative idea I think, but I don’t want to jack theirs…. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for our staff?

Shilelagh Law was good..but the band to talk about opening night was def. The Whole Shabang. They were absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! They should really do a lot more shows at Vintage! Just a suggestion!!! I have to tell you I was acutally a little disappointed in SL. Their set wasnt as energetic as they usually are….very disappointing.

Shilelagh Law was awesome as usual, but you’ve got a point. The energy is not the same when it’s not St. Patty’s. Padraig and The Whole Shabang not only opened for SL, but rocked the house doing it! If you liked Padraig’s music, he plays at Fagans on Mclean on Sundays. Check them out at:
