They Lost on Purpose…

yankeesThe Yankees have a new stadium… OF course they want to wrap the series up at home! you don’t win 10-1, and come back 6-4, to lose at 7-6 to the Angels unless its all politically controlled. Think about it– more games means more money for tickets for that stadium, more promotion, (i.e. commercials), more air time on the network, (aka more money), and winning at home (the only legitimate reason) you have crowd support!

Granted, there was major crowd support on the west coast tonight, it will be ten-fold when the Yanks and Angels face off on Saturday. The Yankees were expectadly going to lose tonight, no questions asked. They proved they could win when they took the lead; the only thing is, is that they stopped scoring once they caught up. Winning at home, in a new stadium will be a sweeter win, than winning in LA. Also, history shows that when a team gets a new stadium they make it to the playoffs, if not the world series.

It’s been eight years since the Yanks went to the series, and I;m betting that 09 will break the curse. New stadium, fantastic pitching, and what many players had to overcome this year, (steroid scandals), they deserve the win. Joe Giradi’s gonna lead ’em to a victory. The only thing I’m upset about is that the Yanks wont face the Dodgers  in the World Series. Torre and Girardi… the Joe-face-off! Who didn’t want to see that? Leave some comments, let me know how you think the ALCS is going to end up… and then how the World Series is going to end. Seriously… comment!! and check out my past posts.

what did you think of the game last night? do you think they lost again in order to finish this series up at home?!

Sorry to respond after the series, but yeah– absolutely. A billion dollar stadium, why not win at home. I was a little surprised they didn’t take it to game 7 actually, but when they started coming back towards the 9th in game 5, it almost felt like they knew what they were planning.
